Happy 4th. of July
Happy 4th. of July to everyone! Let's celebrate the birth of our nation. At this time of the year when this great nation celebrates it's birthday, let us all give thanks for all that we have.
The definition of freedom as found on the web is as follows: "Freedom is control over one's self."
That sounds all too simple fur such a complex situation.
As Americans we have the freedom to say what we please (within reason of course), go where we want to, worship as we wish to, live where we want to within our means, and pretty much do as we please. Sure, we have constraints imposed by certain laws and regulations, but when we compare it to the rest of the world we are truly free.
During this time of celebration let us remember why we can enjoy this freedom. We have this great gift because people have fought for it. The blood of countless Americans has been shed to keep us free. Many brave patriots have given the most precious thing they had, their lives. This was done so that our freedoms can be preserved. I personally have endured the loss of my father in a war for this country, but it was not in vain. Regardless of the name given to the war or conflict that was fought for the United States, they all died for a cause.
I don't like war at all. I do not in any way agree with the current situation in Iraq and the Middle East, but I do support all of the men and women who have been sent there for us. You don't have to agree with the political reasoning behind the Iraq war, and you certainly don't have to believe the lies and half-truths that we are told about the war from our leaders. One thing that you must truly believe in is that our troops are there for us and they have put themselves in harms way for us. They are willing to give their lives for ours. Please remember all those who have died in the past for us, and those that are still fighting for us today. They are there for you and me, and we have a duty to remember them and their families in daily prayer.
This country is the greatest nation on the earth. I believe that with all my heart and soul. And I thank our freedom fighters for giving me the freedom to enjoy the many liberties that I have.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA! May you have many, many more.
